The King County Democrats formed a task force after the June State Convention to address the issues from the 2008 caucus cycle based on the resolution passed. Subcommittees were formed after two brainstorming sessions including an "open mic" night. Value Statements were developed on the critical areas:

  • Collection of Cost
  • Presidential Nominee Selection Process
  • Infrastructure and Technology
  • Relationship between Party and Campaigns
  • Caucus/Convention Rules
  • Platform and Resolutions
  • People - Participation - Perceptions

Values Statements (PDF)

This work was presented to the WSDCO in September and another "open mic" session was held for attendees. The data collected at that meeting was very similar to the material presented. The values statements were given to Jaxon Ravens and Dwight Pelz at a meeting at the State Party headquarters in January 2009. Dwight then wrote a memo to Party Leaders asking for their participation in a State-level task force to address the resolution and movement forward to improve our caucus/convention procedures and processes.
