Presidential caucuses this coming Sunday, April 15th, at 1 PM..

Come to the Presidential caucusesThe Democrat Party will hold it’s presidential caucuses this coming Sunday, April 15th, at 1 PM.  To locate the place where your caucus will take place go here: http://www.wa-democrats.org/caucuses

Most caucuses will try to involve participants in a discussion of issues of importance to those gathered.  The issues that come up will likely be  incorporated into the Party platform.  They will also likely present information on local candidates.

As this is the beginning of the selection process for the Democrat Presidential nominee you’ll be asked to support Obama.  One could consider becoming a delegate for the next level either for Obama or “Uncommitted.”  The rationale I’ve heard present for remaining uncommitted and trying to become a delegate is to have a larger voice in the issues you feel are important.  (Don’t know if that will work, because all delegates will have a voice.)  However, as a delegate at the beginning of the process one could continue to be elected going forward all the way to the National Convention.  We hope many Democrats will turn out in support of Obama and you could be chosen the delegate.

40th Legislative District Democrats Quarterly Meeting Notice

TO:           40th LD Membership

FROM:    David Narsico – Chair

You are invited to our next General Meeting of the 40th Legislative District. This year as we all know is incredibly important for our districts, state, and country. It is vitally important that we begin this campaign year firing on all cylinders and continue that level of performance throughout the year till the elections in November!

I often refer to Woody Allen’s comment, “90% of success is showing up!” That’s a formula we need to follow. We have some wonderful candidates running in our legislative and congressional districts. We need strong, talented, and aggressive candidates to push forward on our progressive agenda. You will have an opportunity to hear from many of them at our next General Meeting. I have been impressed with those I have met so far.

This year will be a jam-packed year with a full-court press to achieve success in ALL of our races for both the House and Senate at the State and Federal levels!  Our candidates need to know we are strongly supporting them, both financially and with our participation.

I will be sending out more details about this meeting next week and more information about the upcoming caucuses.

Please forward this invitation to all of your friends and neighbors to join with us to ensure economic justice is once again part of the American dream
