PCO Training Materials

The Washington State Democrats held a PCO/Party Activist Training in Lacey, WA, just prior to our annual Crab Feed. Training materials from this event are now available on our Ning Site!

If you are already a member of the Ning Site, you can find the materials in the forum, or by clicking this link. If you are not a member and want to be, please send an e-mail to Party Affairs Coordinator Greg Haffner at gregh@wa-democrats.org.

Become a community organizer

You're invited to join Organizing for America as we help train Washington's next generation of community organizers.

It'll take a strong grassroots movement -- like the one that helped put President Obama in the White House -- to deliver the change we need on major issues like health care. Camp OFA, our community organizer training, is specially designed to give you the skills you need to help build support in your area. This is the perfect chance to take your local efforts to the next level and make a huge difference.

Register now to reserve your spot in Camp OFA.

VoteBuilder Cookbook and videos

Additional VoteBuilder training materials are available at www.igorsboss.com/votebuilder (user name pco; password kitchen)

You can download the VoteBuilder Cookbook for use as a reference text.

I have also been experimenting with flash training videos.  See
"Introduction to VoteBuilder" and "VoteBuilder in 2 minutes" at that same location.

My apologies for the poor audio.  I need a better authoring platform
(Mac, not Vista please...).  Does anyone have experience making flash
videos?

Additional notes from Chairs meeting on January 24th

During the discussion on upcoming Leadership training materials, we were asked about a section on, Vetting New Candidates. Here it is,
http://wa-demchairs.org/documents/vetting.candidates.pdf

Following up again on the Public Disclosure Commission - Online ORCA Training, the PDC has said yes to April 24th in Olympia. Jaxon Ravens has now requested that they teach the class in Tacoma, 2:00 - 4:00 pm - we are awaiting their answer and will keep you posted.

Notes from the Reorg meeting

Shanna Sawatzki (1st Vice Chair of the 46th LD) requested that I create a way to identify all of the blog entries with training materials and best practice. What I've done is created a "Training" tag. If you post on the blog about what works in your area, please feel free to add the tag to your post and it will show up on the tag. I have also added Training to the navigation under Blog.

Also, here is a link to the caucus research materials that we pulled together and presented in September:
