2009 ElectionsClick here for the results of the November election! We had a great year! Read about our many accomplishments in 2009!2009 was a very busy and successful election year. For information about the races, candidates and campaigns, please visit our 2009 Races & Candidates page. All of the questionnaires received are linked from that page. A completed endorsement questionnaire is required for KCDCC Endorsement (and for most Democratic LD Organizations). 2009 EndorsementsOur Endorsed CandidatesThe Endorsements Committee conducted interviews of candidates seeking the endorsement of the King County Democrats on Saturday, June 6th at the Renton Carpenters' Hall. This was an all day event with candidates coming in at their appointed time from 9am to 6pm. June Endorsement MeetingThe proposed agenda and endorsement procedures are available here: Meeting Agenda, including Endorsement Committee Recommendations 2009 Endorsements from the KCDCCOne of the items that will be on the ballot in November is the Open Space Preservation Act. We will consider this at our September meeting. Click here to read a letter from Councilman Bob Ferguson and Former Governor Mike Lowry about this King County Charter Amendment. We will be posting information about elections as the information becomes available. We will do our best to keep an eye on what might be on the ballot this year. Please contact Chad if you would like to help make sure we are ready for the GOTV effort with accurate information! For information about races happening in August and November, please click here. Candidates, please download and fill out our questionnaire, and send it in electronic form to Susan Sheary, KCDCC Chair. This questionnaire is used by most of the LD's in King County for their own endorsement procedures. Each Legislative District follows their own procedures and requirements for candidates. Please contact each LD chair for more specific information. A King County Endorsement is not a substitute for the endorsement from the Legislative District organizations. The advantage of an endorsement is the resources made available to a campaign when they earn it, and those resources vary from district to district. Also, King County Elections has put up their 2009 Candidate Resources Page that also indicates Candidate Workshops on May 9th and May 12. We'll keep an eye out for details.
