Welcome! The King County Democrats embrace the principles of the Democratic Party, and work across King County to promote those principles by building a strong party organization, recruiting candidates and electing Democrats. The organization works closely with the Washington State Democrats, the 16 Legislative District Democratic organizations, and our elected officials. King County, Washington is the 12th most populous county in the United States, and contains nearly a third of all voters in the State of Washington. Seventeen (17) different Legislative Districts represent at least some precincts within parts of the county, as well as 5 out of the 9 Congressional Districts of the State delegation. The Democratic Party is very strong in King County. Four of the five Congressional Districts, the 1st, 2nd, 7th and 9th, are represented by Democrats, and most of the Legislative District representatives to Olympia are Democrats. The party organizations at a local level are getting stronger every year. The King County Democratic Party is organized under Washington State Law and is chartered by the Washington State Democratic Party.
